Make the Call, Be First, Be Early, Pray in the Night

Imagine rewards so much that they can’t even be mentioned. By making a little extra effort in things we probably already do, we can have unimaginable benefit in the hereafter.

  1. Performing the Call to prayer (Adhan); Do this at home when you can, even if no one is there to hear you, the Angels hear you and respond.
  2. Standing in the first row of congregational prayer; You’re already at the Mosque (Masjid), might as well stand at the front and get the full benefit.
  3. Praying your Salaat early; Instead of delaying it until the last minute, pray right at the time when each of the 5 daily prayers starts.
  4. Praying in the middle of the night when most people are asleep (Tahujjud); Even performing just 2 Rakats (cycles) should be enough for a tremendous reward.

Reported by Abu Hurairah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Were people to know the blessing of pronouncing Adhan and the standing in the first row, they would even draw lots to secure these privileges. And were they to realize the reward of performing Salat early, they would race for it; and were they to know the merits of Salat after nightfall (`Isha’) and the dawn (Fajr) Salat, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.” [Bukhari & Muslim – Riyad us Saliheen, Chapter 186, 1033]

Be A Person From Paradise

How easy does Allah make it for every believer to be from the people of Paradise?  It’s only through Allah’s eternal mercy that we get these gems of faith.

Simply recite this supplication (dua) during the day and at night, and have a firm faith in it, it is the best way to ask for forgiveness, and if you die that same day or night, you will be from the people of Paradise.  Alhumdulillah (All Praise and Gratefulness are to God).

Oh Allah! You are my Lord! None has the right to be worshipped but You. You created me and I am Your slave, and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and I confess to You all my sins. So I beg You to forgive my sins, for nobody can forgive sins except You.

Shaddad ibn Aws (radiAllahu anhu) relates that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said that he (Sayyid al-Istighfar) most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is to say (the above du’a). That “If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.” [sahih al-Bukhari; 8,75,318, at-Tirmidhi; 3393, an-Nasa’i; 5522, Ahmad; 16662]

Improve Your Worship

Do you want a way to make your worship (remembrance (dhikr), gratefulness, and prayer (salaat)) even better and more accepted?

Repeat this dua (supplication) at the end of every prayer:

Oh Allah, help me in remembering You, in being grateful to You, and in worshipping You properly.

Only Allah knows how you could improve your worship, so ask Allah for help, Allah will answer your request.

اللهم اعني على ذكرك وشكرك وحسن عبادتك
‘Alahumma a’innee ala thikrika wa shukrika wa husnee ibadatika.’
(O Allah, help me in remembering You, in offering thanks to You, and in worshipping You properly.)

“I advise you, O Mu’adh, say at the end of every prayer, ‘O Allah, aid me in Your remembrance, Your thanks, and in perfecting Your worship.” (Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, an-Nasa’i, Ibn Khuzaimah, Ibn Hibban and al-Hakim)

Poem: Fitna of Dajjal

The Fitna of Dajjal

By: Ameerah J. Ali

In a time of uncertainty,
We know the inevitable, will become a reality.
AllAh (SWT) has told all of humanity,
Alif, Laam, Mim. Da Lee Kal Kitabu La Raybah Fee. (2:1-2)
And still, we have doubt in what we believe.

Dajjal will surely come to deceive,
Breaking up an entire family.
Are you ready to turn the cheek,
And follow the hungry and weak?

Dajjal will claim Divinity,
Winning the hearts of those who lack faith and sincerity.

His chains will be cut for him to run free,
With his powers, he will trek the world in its entirety.

In a time of famine and disparity,
Dajjal will cause it to rain, and people will follow blindly.
The weak in faith will give up everything,
To be a part of this false prophecy.

He will never be given entry,
Into Mecca or Medina, our holiest cities.
When he reaches Medina, in his journey,
The tremors will cause the hypocrites to flee.
A Muslim, strong in his belief,
Will come to call out Dajjal’s dishonesty.
Dajjal will kill and revive. Do you still doubt me?
Yes, now I know you are Dajjal, most Definitely!

Memorize the first 10 Ayah of Surah Al Kahf, for security,
Add the last 10 for immunity.

Seek Allah’s protection from this catastrophe,
May He guide us and keep us on the Siratul Mustakeem!
Say Ameen!

Remember to turn to the Quran-ul Majeed
Because we are guaranteed,
Alif Laam Mim, Da Lee Kal Kitabu La Raybah Fee!!! (2:1-2)

Public Speaking

Do you ever get nervous before giving a speech?  Or doing a presentation?

Allah sent Prophet Moses on a mission to Pharaoh, to convey the message of Islam.  Pharaoh was the worst of mankind, he was a tyrant, a murderer, and merciless. How nervous would you be in front of such a man? Delivering a message that he surely does not want to hear?

Prophet Moses recited the following dua, revealed in the Quran. Prophet Moses was seeking Allah’s help before speaking.

We can recite this same Dua silently before speaking or giving a presentation, by Allah’s will, your task will become easy, and your mind will be at ease (ameen):

“My Lord, expand for me my chest (grant me self confidence, contentment and boldness), ease my task for me, and remove the impediment from my speech so that they may understand what I say” (Qur’an, Surah TaHa (20) Verses 25-28 http://quran.com/20/25-28)

5 before 5

Take advantage of these five before five:

  1. Your youth before you become old.
  2. Your health before you become weak and sick.
  3. Your wealth before you become poor.
  4. Your free time before you become busy.
  5. Your life before your death.

“Take advantage of five matters before five other matters: your YOUTH before you become old; and your health, before you fall sick; and your richness, before you become poor; and your free time before you become busy; and your life, before your death.” (Narrated by Imam Ahmad])
