Daily debt to Allah

Did you know you have daily debt to Allah?  Every morning charity is due on every joint of the body.  There are 360 joints in the human body.  So you owe at least 360 acts of charity every single day.  If you miss a day or several days, does your debt accumulate over your lifetime? Every year amounts to just under 130,000 acts of charity.

Every time you glorify God (say Alhumdulillah) is an act of charity, every time you praise God (say Subhan’Allah), it’s an act of charity, and every time you declare Gods greatness (say Allahu’Akbar) is an act of charity.  Doing good is an act of charity, forbidding evil is an act of charity.

Hack: You could pray two rakats of Doha prayer in the morning (About 20 minutes after sunrise until about 45 minutes before Dhuhr prayer), this would be equal to everything mentioned above in reward.

Salat ul Doha (Duha)
Abu Dharr Radhiallahu ‘anhu reported: The Prophet (saw) said, “In the morning, charity is due on every joint of the body of every one of you. Every utterance of Allah’s Glorification (i.e., saying Subhan Allah) is an act of charity, every utterance of His Praise (i.e., saying Al-hamdu lillah) is an act of charity, every utterance of declaration of His Greatness (i.e., saying La ilaha ill Allah) is an act of charity, and every utterance of declaration of His Power (i.e. saying Allah Akbar); and enjoining M`aruf (good) is an act of charity, and forbidding Munkar (evil) is an act of charity, and two Rak`ats of Doha Prayers which one performs in the Forenoon is equal to all this (in reward).” [Muslim]

Protection from debt

Are you in debt?  Are your credit cards out of control? Is your mortgage too much? Is it causing an undue stress in your life?  Try reciting this dua regularly (morning and evening), make an effort to get out of debt, and have patience, you will see a difference if you are grateful.

Abu Saeed Kudri (R.A.) narrates that once a person mentioned to Prophet Mohammad (SAW.) that he was concerned about his major debts. Prophet Mohammad (SAW.) replied “Shall I not show you those words by saying which Allah will remove your concern and pay your debts?” The person asked “What is it, O Messenger of Allah?” Prophet Mohammad (SAW.) told him to recite the following morning and evening:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

“O Allah I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, I seek refuge in You from hopelessness and laziness, I seek refuge in You from miserliness and cowardice and I seek refuge in You from overwhelming debt and from the force of men”.

Arabic transliteration: “Allahumma inni a`oodhoo bika minal-hammi-walhazan. Wa a`oodhoo bika minal-a’jzi-wal-kasal. Wa a`oodhoo bika minal jubni wal bukhl. Wa a`oodhoo bika min ghalabatid-dayni-waqahrir rijal.”

The person stated that he recited this dua and Allah removed all his worries and debts. (Abu Dawood)
